2021 Grammy's Update

The 63rd Annual Grammy's premiered March 14th, 2021; featured many big artists such as Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, and Megan Thee Stallion. It was held in the Los Angeles Convention Center and was hosted by Trevor Noah. This year, Beyonce won the most Grammy's, 4 in total, and became the female artist with the most Grammy's ever with her 28th win. With this, she has set a new record for the most-awarded women in Grammy's history, beating previous record holder, Alison Krauss, "I am so honored, I'm so excited."Harry Styles also made an appearance. He won “Best Pop Solo Performance”. Billie Eilish won Record of the Year for “Everything I Wanted”. As Taylor Swift broke the record for the most Album of the Year awards won by an artist. And Meghan Thee Stallion also made history as she became the first female rap artist to win Best New Artist since Lauryn Hill in 1999.

Comparing the first Grammy event to this one, there are truly a lot of differences. The trophy handed out for The Grammy's is depicted as a gramophone and is handmade and gold plated by John Billings. The trophy was first awarded May 4th, 1959 61 years ago. When the first Grammy event was hosted, there were two ceremonies, one held in Beverly Hills, California and the other in the Park Sheraton Hotel in New York city.
