Interact Locker Signs

The Spring Lake High School club, Interact, is all about serving the community and spreading kindness. Usually, they meet monthly and volunteer in many events throughout the year. However, this year looks different for clubs, and Interact is no exception.

With the coronavirus pandemic still overtaking the country, the health and safety of students is a top priority. Therefore, Interact is unable to meet this month, with its future uncertain. That won’t stop the club from continuing to spread positivity around the school. Due to the pandemic, students have not been assigned lockers this year. The halls that were once covered with signs for sports, clubs, and performances, along with other locker personalizations, are now entirely bare. One of the interact leaders, Mrs. Gutierrez, is encouraging Interact members to make signs to hang on the lockers. She noticed that the hallways were boring and decided to combat the issue while giving Interact members a chance to get involved.

There are pops of color throughout the halls. Signs have been hung around the school with encouraging quotes. The hallways feel more friendly and colorful. Clubs such as Interact continue to make a difference in our school without being able to meet. Students who made signs have brightened the school during this trying time. Even small acts of kindness and positivity can have an impact.

If you are interested in becoming a member of Interact, contact Mrs. Gutierrez or Mrs. Nieboer on schoology. Although the club is currently unable to meet, you will be added to the schoology group to receive updates.
