Rousing Trump Rally in Muskegon
On October 17th, 2020, President Donald J. Trump held a campaign rally in Muskegon at the Muskegon County Airport to a crowd of thousands of his supporters. The likely cause of the rally is to win over as many voters as possible from one of the crucial swing states so he can once again win the State of Michigan.
With the election just a mere two and a half weeks away from when he had held this rally, it makes sense that he would be attempting to win over his support once again in the State of Michigan. This makes even more sense when you look back to the 2016 election in which he barely won the state by only 10,704 votes ahead of his opponent. He needs to keep Michigan’s support for his re-election.
During the rally, President Trump discussed many different matters such as his opponents in Michigan (specifically Governor Whitmer), the tearing down of statues across the country, as well as what he has done for the economy of Michigan. While these were just some of the highlights of the matters he talked about, he also mentioned his narrow victory in 2016 as well as his Supreme Court nominee, Amy Coney Barrett.
“The crowd was very enthusiastic about what he said and quite loud,” said Josh Lanka, a student who attended the rally. As usual, his supporters carried the excitement and enthusiasm that they usually carry. They were really responsive with President Trump, cheering him on throughout the rally.
Trump will be spending the last few weeks before the election holding rallies in many different competitive states with rallies being scheduled in Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and another one in Michigan. It is also likely that he will schedule more for the coming days leading up to the vote on November 3rd.
